The Ballroom of Bhangarh Fort (Sounds Of Dancing Ghungroos) :
This seems to be some kind of hallway or ballroom with a pond or bath in it’s center. Looking at what’s left we can imagine how beautiful it might have been in the past. The locals say that people have heard the sound of “ghungroos” (many small metallic bells strung together to form a musical anklet tied to the feet of classical Indian dancers). So, if this was a bath then the king must’ve bathed in it while the dencers were dancing and entertaining him or if this was a ballroom or dance hall then these dancers must were probably dancing and entertaining special royal guests.
The Queens room is actually on the second floor to the right of this place. We will explore that to in our subsequent photos. If you notice the arches on the walls, that’s where they probably place some candles to light up the room. I can just imagine the beautiful ambiance of this place at night with the light of those candle, it must’ve been very beautiful.
Unfortunately, we are not permitted to explore the fort after six o’clock (after sunset) otherwise we might try to lit up some candles and see how it would actually look in the past. But I’m sure it wouldn’t look the same because in the past the walls must’ve been painted bright to reflect the light.
There seems to be a few rooms connected to this place but we’re not actually sure whether they are rooms, dining rooms, or something else.
If you have any of your own theories of what this underground chamber of some kind is please do let us know by replying to this post. We are eager to hear from you.
